Britain & Irelands' Next Top Model Invites Katie Price As Judge

Katie Price

When it comes to fashion - be it catwalk, editorial or… the other one they talk about on BINTM - who'd be best to offer advice to aspiring young models?

The new X Factor-style Britain & Irelands' Next Top Model is innovating by starting an X Factor-style mentorship programme, it appears. As a result they've called in that giant of the fashion industry - Katie 'Underexposed' Price to act as a judge.

You may scoff at this appointment. 'Katie Price?!' you might wail, incredulous as hell. 'But she's never done fashion! She's a Page Three girl turned media strumpet! What on earth can she offer girls looking to strut their stuff in classy joints from London to New York via Milan?'

And these are good points and pertinent questions. The show's microsite refers to Katie's strong experience of the modelling industry, but isn't specific about the type of modelling she does.

Elle MacPherson, who wanders around the set of the show like Steven Tyler on oestrogen supplements, had this to say:

"Katie was fun! She's interesting. It was about bringing her experience to the show."

..and you can't deny Katie's experience will prove invaluable for the girls. So long as they intend on shacking up with some dubious partners throughout their career-span, fancy exposing their intimate zones in a poor quality sex-tape, have an urge to fill the cable channels with tedious reality shows about their monotonous existence and desire the adoration of millions of not-very-well people.

But if they want to learn anything about the fashion industry from her, besides where to buy a pink velour tracksuit, they might be in trouble.
